I think it\u2019s going very well, we\u2019ve had some very, very good talks,&#8221; Trump told reporters who were allowed into the room briefly.<\/p>\n<p>Trump added, \u201cWe look forward to a lot of very positive things happening for Russia, for the United States, and for everybody concerned.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Trump and Putin were joined at their more formal meeting by Secretary of State\u00a0<a id=\"ramplink_Rex Tillerson_\" href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/topics\/business\/CEOs\/rex-tillerson.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rex Tillerson<\/a>, Russian Foreign Minister\u00a0<a id=\"ramplink_Sergey Lavrov_\" href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/topics\/news\/world\/sergey-lavrov.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sergey Lavrov<\/a>\u00a0and two translators.<\/p>\n<p>Putin said he was &#8220;delighted&#8221; to meet with Trump personally and hoped their meeting &#8220;will yield positive results,&#8221; according to the translator.<\/p>\n<p>The Russian president said while he and Trump have spoken over the phone &#8212; three times since Trump took office \u2013 such calls are &#8220;never enough.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Trump did not answer questions from the media on whether they will discuss Russia&#8217;s alleged interference in the 2016 U.S. election.<\/p>\n<p>Before their high-stakes sit-down, the two leaders had a casual run-in this morning where they exchanged a handshake.<\/p>\n<p><em>This is a developing story.
