{"id":26395,"date":"2018-07-22T11:31:50","date_gmt":"2018-07-22T15:31:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cosmicconvergence.org\/?p=26395"},"modified":"2018-07-22T11:32:53","modified_gmt":"2018-07-22T15:32:53","slug":"doj-and-fbi-colluded-to-submit-fake-fisa-warrant-app-using-national-security-justification","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cosmicconvergence.org\/?p=26395","title":{"rendered":"DOJ and FBI Colluded to Submit Fake FISA Warrant App Using Fabricated &#8216;National Security&#8217; Justification"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><div id=\"attachment_66134\" style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/themillenniumreport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/carter-page.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-66134\" class=\"size-full wp-image-66134\" src=\"http:\/\/themillenniumreport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/carter-page.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-66134\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Carter Page<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n<h2>&#8220;Agent Of A Foreign Power&#8221;: In Historic First, DOJ Releases Carter Page FISA Application<\/h2>\n<p>ZeroHedge.com<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Justice late Friday released\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/vault.fbi.gov\/d1-release\">via the FBI&#8217;s FOIA Vault\u00a0<\/a>a redacted copy of the Carter Page FISA warrant application and several renewals, which\u00a0<strong>accuse Page of being a Russian spy<\/strong>, as summarized by the\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/07\/21\/us\/politics\/carter-page-fisa.html\">New York Times<\/a><\/em>\u00a0&#8211; which obtained a copy of the materials through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>Of note, in\u00a0the\u00a0nearly two years since the application was filed, Page\u00a0hasn&#8217;t been charged with any of the allegations contained within\u00a0it.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0previously top-secret document is\u00a0<strong>the first such release\u00a0by the DOJ in the 40 years since the surveillance law was enacted.\u00a0<\/strong>In April, the DOJ said they were &#8220;processing for potential redaction and release certain [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act] materials related to Carter Page,\u201d after watchdog group\u00a0<em>Judicial Watch<\/em>\u00a0and several other organizations filed similar lawsuits.<\/p>\n<p>The application reads in part:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><u><strong>Identity of the target<\/strong><\/u>\u00a0The target of this application is Carter W. Page, a U.S. person,\u00a0<strong>and\u00a0<u>an agent of a foreign power<\/u>, described in detail below<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>The F.B.I. believes Page has been the subject of targeted recruitment by the Russian government,<\/strong>\u201d\u00a0the warrant application continues.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A line was then redacted, and then it picked up with \u201c<strong>undermine and influence the outcome of the 2016 U.S. presidential election in violation of U.S. criminal law<\/strong>. Mr. Page is a former foreign policy adviser to a candidate for U.S. president.\u201d\u00a0&#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/07\/21\/us\/politics\/carter-page-fisa.html\">NYT<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The document then concludes that Page was allegedly &#8220;<strong>collaborating and conspiring with the Russian government<\/strong>,&#8221; which they viewed as probably cause to spy on him &#8211; and again, which Page has never been charged with.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/themillenniumreport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/DiqZxqLUYAAP8s4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-66133\" src=\"http:\/\/themillenniumreport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/DiqZxqLUYAAP8s4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"97\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Page &#8211; who has\u00a0<strong>repeatedly denied being a Russian spy<\/strong>, said in April that the FISA application was &#8220;beyond words,&#8221; and a &#8220;Joke,&#8221; while claiming that he has never served as an agent for a foreign government.\u00a0<strong>We would also note that he hasn&#8217;t been charged as one<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Page was targeted months earlier by FBI informant Stefan Halper, who formed a relationship with Page and several other Trump aides as part of the Obama administration&#8217;s active counterintelligence operation on the Trump campaign.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Witch Hunt&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While President Trump has characterized the entire counterintelligence operation as a &#8220;witch hunt,&#8221; an increasing chorus of frustrated GOP lawmakers have begun to echo his sentiment, as we are now\u00a0in month\u00a018 of post-inaugural investigation\u00a0by the Department of Justice.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after the\u00a0<em>Times<\/em>\u00a0article hit, President Trump tweeted that the &#8220;Rigged Witch Hunt, headed by the 13 Angry Democrats&#8221; (in reference to Mueller&#8217;s team), are trying to damage the GOP going into midterms by dragging out their investigation.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Rigged Witch Hunt, headed by the 13 Angry Democrats (and now 4 more have been added, one who worked directly for Obama W.H.), seems intent on damaging the Republican Party\u2019s chances in the November Election. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realDonaldTrump\/status\/1020803264617615360?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 21, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Among those who signed the FISA application were:\u00a0James Comey, John Kerry, Andrew McCabe, John Brennan, James Clapper and Susan Rice.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/themillenniumreport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/signatures.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-66132\" src=\"http:\/\/themillenniumreport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/signatures.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"647\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Steele Dossier<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Following months of Congressional investigations, GOP members of the House Intelligence Committee released\u00a0the four-page\u00a0&#8220;<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2018-02-02\/fisa-memo-released-heres-what-it-says\">Nunes Memo<\/a>,&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0which concluded that\u00a0<strong>the FBI relied on the\u00a0largely unverified &#8220;Steele Dossier&#8221; as their primary source of evidence<\/strong>. To reinforce the dossier,\u00a0they included\u00a0a\u00a0<i>Yahoo! News<\/i>\u00a0article written by Michael Isikoff, which used information fed to him by Steele. (Isikoff was &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/news\/2018-02-04\/michael-isikoff-says-he-was-stunned-see-his-story-cited-page-fisa-warrant\"><em>stunned<\/em><\/a>&#8221; to hear of this) The FBI has also been accused of failing to notify the FISA judge that the dossier was political in nature.<\/p>\n<p>To that end, the FISA\u00a0application draws directly from page 9 of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/3259984-Trump-Intelligence-Allegations.html\">Steele dossier<\/a>, claiming that \u00a0someone\u00a0<strong>&#8220;met secretly with Page and that their agenda for the meeting included Divyekin raising a dossier or &#8220;kompromat&#8221; that the Kremlin possessed on Candidate #2 and the possibility of it being released to Candidate #1&#8217;s campaign.<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"zxx\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Y18tybJk3r\">pic.twitter.com\/Y18tybJk3r<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Orin Kerr (@OrinKerr) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OrinKerr\/status\/1020794244628283392?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 21, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>To\u00a0vouch for Steele himself &#8211;\u00a0a former MI6 agent\u00a0who the FBI fired after he made inappropriate admissions to the press, the agency wrote the following:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Not withstanding Source1&#8217;s reason for conducting the research into Candidate1&#8217;s ties to Russia,\u00a0<strong>based on Source1&#8217;s previous reporting history with the FBI, whereby Source1 provided reliable information to the FBI, the FBI believes Source 1s reporting herein to be credible<\/strong>&#8220;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The FISA application also says that Steele did not directly provide information to Isikoff, which he in fact did.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">FBI\/DOJ telling the FISA court that Source 1 (Christopher Steele) did not &quot;directly provide&quot; information to reporter Isikoff.<\/p>\n<p>It turns out that this was 100% false. Steele was the source. <\/p>\n<p>They lied to the FISA court. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/b0IoOnCNzL\">pic.twitter.com\/b0IoOnCNzL<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Techno Fog (@Techno_Fog) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Techno_Fog\/status\/1020803974193180672?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 21, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, as Congressional GOP have argued that this is evidence of malfeasance, House and Senate Democrats have argued\u00a0that the FISA application\u00a0also contained evidence unrelated to the dossier, and that the FISA judge was aware of its political nature.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>But Democrats noted that the application also contained evidence against Mr. Page unrelated to the dossier, and that it did tell the court that the research\u2019s sponsor had the political motive of wanting to discredit Mr. Trump\u2019s campaign<\/strong>. They argued that it was normal not to specifically name Americans and American organizations in such materials.\u00a0&#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/07\/21\/us\/politics\/carter-page-fisa.html\">NYT<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I want apologies from every pathetic hack lawmaker and pundit who went out and made it sound like the dossier alone was used to get the Page FISA warrants or that DOJ somehow concealed the source of the info so as to trick the FISA judge.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Bradley P.
