Federal Judge “Shocked” To Find Obama State Dept. Lied To Protect Hillary From Email Server Lawsuits<\/h1>\n

The noose appears to be tightening<\/strong>\u00a0further around the law-less behaviors of the Obama administration in their frantic efforts to protect former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton from lawsuits seeking information about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private email server and her handling of the 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.<\/p>\n

As Fox News reports<\/em><\/a>, the transparency group\u00a0Judicial Watch initially sued the State Department in 2014, seeking information about the response to the Benghazi attack<\/strong>\u00a0after the government didn’t respond to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. Other\u00a0parallel lawsuits by Judicial Watch are probing issues like Clinton’s server<\/strong>, whose existence\u00a0was revealed\u00a0during the course of the litigation.<\/p>\n

The State Department had immediately moved to dismiss<\/strong>\u00a0Judicial Watch’s first lawsuit, but U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth (who was appointed to the bench by President Ronald Reagan) denied the request to dismiss the lawsuit at the time, and on Friday, he said he was\u00a0happy he did, charging that State Department officials had intentionally misled him<\/strong>\u00a0because other key documents, including those on Clinton’s email server, had not in fact been produced.<\/p>\n

“It\u00a0was clear to me that at the time that I ruled initially, that\u00a0false statements were made to me by career State Department officials<\/strong>, and it became more clear through discovery that\u00a0the information that I was provided was clearly false regarding the adequacy of the search\u00a0<\/strong>and this \u2013 what we now know turned out to be the Secretary\u2019s email system.”<\/p>\n

“I don\u2019t know the details of what kind of IG inquiry there was into why these\u00a0career officials at the State Department would have filed false affidavits<\/strong>\u00a0with me. I don\u2019t know the details of why the Justice Department lawyers did not know\u00a0false affidavits were being filed\u00a0<\/strong>with me, butI was very relieved that I did not accept them<\/strong>\u00a0and that I allowed limited discovery into what had happened.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In a somewhat stunningly frank exchange with Justice Department lawyer Robert Prince, the judge pressed the issue,\u00a0accusing Prince of using “doublespeak” and “playing the same word games [Clinton] played.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

That “was not true,”<\/strong>\u00a0the judge said, referring to the State Department’s assurances in a sworn declaration that it had searched all relevant documents.<\/p>\n

“It was a lie.”<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Additionally,\u00a0\u00a0Fox notes\u00a0<\/a>that Judge\u00a0Lamberth said he was “shocked” and “dumbfounded” when he learned that FBI had granted immunity to former Clinton chief of staff Cheryl Mills\u00a0<\/strong>during its investigation into the use of Clinton’s server, according to a court transcript of his remarks.<\/p>\n

“I had myself found that Cheryl Mills had committed perjury and lied under oath in a published opinion I had issued in a Judicial Watch case where\u00a0I found her unworthy of belief, and I was quite shocked to find out she had been given immunity<\/strong>\u00a0in \u2014 by the Justice Department in the Hillary Clinton email case.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

On Friday, Lamberth said\u00a0he did not know Mills had been granted immunity until he “read the IG report\u00a0<\/strong>and learned that and that she had accompanied [Clinton] to her interview.”<\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Trump should ask why his State Department is still refusing to answer basic questions\u00a0<\/strong>about the Clinton email scandal,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>Fitton said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHillary Clinton\u2019s and the State Department\u2019s email\u00a0cover up abused the FOIA, the courts, and the American people\u2019s right to know.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
