Florida Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum is the latest to be stung by a Project Veritas undercover video. A video released on Thursday shows a campaign staffer they identify as\u00a0Omar Smith using a racial slur and saying the candidate makes promises he knows he can\u2019t keep.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a cracker state,\u201d Smith stated. \u201cGet it? Ask anybody outside of here. You go Port St. Lucie, Orlando \u2026 man them crackers ain\u2019t gonna let us do that sh*t dawg. Boy, you crazy?\u201d<\/p>\n
He went on, saying, \u201cGillum is a progressive. He is a\u00a0part of the crazy, crazy, crazies.\u201d<\/p>\n
Then the undercover reporter asked how Gillum plans to pay for many of his campaign promises, Smith said he couldn\u2019t. \u201cThat\u2019s not for them to know \u2026 That\u2019s not for [the voters] to know. Remember our saying, modern-day fairy tales start with \u2018once I am elected.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Gillum is in a very tight race against Republican Rep. Ron DeSantis. According to an\u00a0Ipsos Public Affairs poll<\/a>\u00a0released on Tuesday, Gillum is up six points.<\/p>\n President Donald Trump has waded into this race calling Gillum \u201ca thief<\/a>,\u201d because the Tallahassee mayor has reportedly been under\u00a0investigation by the FBI<\/a>.\u00a0(RELATED: Records Show FBI Undercover FBI Agents Gave Andrew Gillum Broadway Tickets, Refuting Campaign\u2019s Claims)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Project Veritas has also recently released videos on midterm election candidates\u00a0Phil Bredesen<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Sen.
