Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says that Billionaires who want to run for president should\u00a0work their way up<\/strong>\u00a0– starting perhaps with city council.<\/p>\n

Referring to former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz’s bid for President in 2020, the\u00a0former bartender and Bernie Sanders 2016 organizer tweeted on Wednesday: “Why don\u2019t people ever tell billionaires who want to run for President that they need to \u201cwork their way up\u201d or that \u201cmaybe they should start with city council first\u201d?”<\/p>\n

Ocasio-Cortez was referring to Schultz’s comment that\u00a0she<\/strong>\u00a0is the reason<\/a>\u00a0he’s running as an independent –\u00a0a move widely seen by Democrats as ensuring a Trump victory in 2020.<\/p>\n
