In the past year, the president has accused several online giants of censoring conservative voices, in particular giants like <a class=\"crunchbase-link\" href=\"https:\/\/crunchbase.com\/organization\/twitter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-type=\"organization\" data-entity=\"twitter\">Twitter, <\/a> Google and Facebook.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Trump Administration is fighting for free speech online.<\/p>\n<p>No matter your views, if you suspect political bias has caused you to be censored or silenced online, we want to hear about it! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9lc0cqUhuf\">https:\/\/t.co\/9lc0cqUhuf<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/J8ICbx42dz\">pic.twitter.com\/J8ICbx42dz<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; The White House 45 Archived (@WhiteHouse45) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WhiteHouse45\/status\/1128765001223663617?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 15, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Today, the White House <a href=\"https:\/\/whitehouse.typeform.com\/to\/Jti9QH\">launched a Typeform site<\/a> aimed at collecting personal reports of social media censorship relating to political bias.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS should advance FREEDOM OF SPEECH,\u201d the minimalistic site reads. \u201cYet too many Americans have seen their accounts suspended, banned, or fraudulently reported for unclear \u2018violations\u2019 of user policies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For those who feel they\u2019ve been wronged in some way by one of the major platforms, the 16-part questionnaire lets you choose from a list including <a class=\"crunchbase-link\" href=\"https:\/\/crunchbase.com\/organization\/facebook\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-type=\"organization\" data-entity=\"facebook\">Facebook, <\/a> Instagram, Twitter and YouTube, while inquiring about specific tweets that were censored or accounts that were targeted. Users can submit screenshots and other supporting evidence and opt in for \u201cPresident Trump\u2019s fight for free speech\u201d after entering a name, email address, phone number and proving they\u2019re real by answering a trivia question about the Declaration of Independence (take that, robots).<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Twitter \u201cSHADOW BANNING\u201d prominent Republicans. Last summer, he <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2018\/07\/26\/twitter-shadow-banning-is-trumps-latest-social-media-cause\/\">took to Twitter<\/a> to address issues with the platform, writing, \u201cTwitter \u2018SHADOW BANNING\u2019 prominent Republicans. Many complaints.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Late last month, the president met with Jack Dorsey for 30 minutes in the Oval Office, to discuss making Twitter <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2019\/04\/23\/jack-dorsey-trump-meeting-twitter\/\">\u201chealthier and more civil,\u201d<\/a>according to the tech exec.
