A Canadian medical committee has ordered a chiropractor to pay $100,000 for sharing \u201canti-vaccine\u201d views on social media.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ruling, publicized Thursday<\/a>, orders Dr. Dena Churchill of Halifax to pay the Nova Scotia College of Chiropractors for \u201cprofessional misconduct\u201d after she shared \u201cher personal views that vaccinations could be harmful.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDr. Churchill\u2019s conduct brought the profession of chiropractic into disrepute,\u201d the committee wrote.<\/p>\n

The college maintained social media posts Dr. Churchill made in 2018 were an \u201cegregious breach\u201d of the national chiropractic association\u2019s guidelines, which reportedly order chiropractors \u201cnot to discuss vaccines in any capacity,\u201d according to the CBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cDr. Churchill was responsible for social media posts outside her scope of practice which were harmful to the public,\u201d the committee wrote, noting she was defiant of regulators and refused to delete certain posts.<\/p>\n

\u201cDr. Churchill maintained significant social media activity which is outside the scope of practice of chiropractic in Nova Scotia despite direct instruction to stop. That is egregious conduct.\u201d<\/p>\n

The committee also noted that Dr. Churchill refused to bend to pressure, maintaining, \u201cHer personal views are her personal views,\u201d and that she \u201cdoes not retreat from those views\u201d that vaccines can cause harm.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe entire matter could have been avoided if Dr. Churchill deleted offending posts from her social media account, the committee admits, adding, \u201cShe refused.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDr. Churchill has been found guilty of the charges that have been filed against her,\u201d the Hearing Committee wrote.<\/p>\n

After taking her finances and health into consideration, the committee decided to allow Dr. Churchill to pay $100,000 over the course of 10 years, maintaining that if she didn\u2019t pay \u201cat least a total of $30,000 by January 2, 2022,\u201d she\u2019d have to pay the total in full.<\/p>\n

In a Facebook post<\/a> Friday, Dr. Churchill thanked the CBC for its coverage of her story.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy sincere hope is that my example will awaken more of the public to the control and manipulation of the medical industrial complex,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201c[T]he article is perfectly correct in that I have no remorse and I would do it all over again if I had the opportunity,\u201d said Dr. Churchill.<\/p>\n

\u201cVACCINES ARE DANGEROUS educated people know this if they study the research. \u2018Anti\u2019 is a word used to divide the population, I\u2019d encourage you to BE VACCINE INFORMED.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSilencing us doctors in any discipline is against the charter of rights and freedoms,\u201d she added. \u201cAnd to silence us when we are trying to relate dangers to public based on research is criminal!\u201d<\/p>\n
